Sheel’s realistic, naturalistic, and impressionistic artistic expression began at the tender age of five. He was guided by several Vermont artists in a variety of different techniques and graduated from the University of Vermont. He found his greatest inspiration from his close friend and mentor, former Yale art professor, the late Caroll N. Jones Jr., who was a master of a multi-layered painting technique rarely practiced since the Renaissance.
To date, most of his work has been created primarily through private commissions. While Vermont has inspired him creatively, his award-winning work hangs in many private international collections. In the United States, one of the largest collections of his beautiful scenic paintings can be found in Miami.
